In Intermediate A, you will learn and talk about restaurants, meals, flavors and ingredients, related to the Spanish and Latin American cuisine. You will also learn how to give instructions... as in a recipe.
You will use these skills, learned early in the term, to later on learn to give instructions to your friends,
colleagues, neighbors, relatives or clients, in the form of recommendations, suggestions and/or advice.
In short: You will learn to persuade people to do something. A very important and useful communication skill.
You will also watch and talk about a short Chilean movie with a story in which the protagonists, while getting ready to watch an important soccer game on TV, prepare a typical dish of the region: a curanto. The movie is Historias de Fútbol (1994) by the director Andrés Wood.
